Privacy Policy
What Cinematic Pro collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and how to delete it.
01Information We Collect
When you use Cinematic Pro, we may collect: account information (such as your name and email, via Google or phone sign-in), the video content you upload or import, basic usage data needed to operate the App, and — only if you choose to connect them — information from your Instagram and/or YouTube accounts as described below.
02How We Use Information
- To process your videos through transcription and AI highlight-detection services.
- To authenticate your account and keep your projects associated with you.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the App.
- Where you've connected a YouTube or Instagram account, to power optional features like Media Kit and Growth Intelligence, as described below.
03Third-Party Processing
Video and audio content is sent to third-party AI providers (for transcription and highlight analysis) as part of processing your request. These providers process data solely to return results to the App.
04Google and YouTube Data
Cinematic Pro uses YouTube API Services. Connecting your YouTube account is entirely optional and requires your explicit authorization through Google's own sign-in and consent screen — the App does not access your YouTube account unless and until you choose to connect it.
What we request. We request read-only access via the following OAuth scopes:
youtube.readonlyyt-analytics.readonly
We never request permission to upload, edit, delete, or otherwise modify anything on your YouTube channel.
What we access. With your authorization, we may access: your channel ID and official channel name; public channel information and statistics (such as subscriber and view counts) as returned by the YouTube Data API; recent uploaded-video metadata; and analytics available to you as the channel owner (such as views, estimated watch time, and audience-demographic aggregates), as returned by the YouTube Analytics API. We request this information to show it back to you inside features like Media Kit and Growth Intelligence, and — specifically for Media Kit's AI-suggested rate card — to give our AI provider real context about your audience size and reach so it can propose a starting price for you to review and adjust.
AI processing of connected-account data. When you use Media Kit, your connected YouTube and/or Instagram statistics are included in a request to our AI provider (Google's Gemini) to generate a suggested rate-card price per deliverable. This is the only feature that currently sends connected-account data to an AI provider; captioning and highlight-detection AI processing (Section 03) uses only your video/audio content, not YouTube account data.
Storage and encryption. Your YouTube access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest on our backend and are never sent to or stored on your device. Cached channel and analytics information is stored on our backend to avoid re-fetching it from Google on every visit, and is refreshed when you reconnect or manually refresh the relevant feature.
Retention. Connected-account tokens and cached YouTube/Instagram information are retained until you disconnect the platform or delete your Cinematic Pro account — we do not currently run an automatic expiry on this data beyond that.
Disconnecting. You can disconnect your YouTube account at any time from Settings. Doing so deletes the stored tokens and cached channel/analytics information from Cinematic Pro's systems. Disconnecting in-app does not itself revoke Google's own record of the authorization — to fully revoke Cinematic Pro's access on Google's side as well, visit Google's third-party access settings and remove Cinematic Pro there.
Account deletion. Deleting your Cinematic Pro account removes your associated YouTube connection, its tokens, and its cached data from our systems as part of account deletion.
We do not sell YouTube data. We do not use it for advertising. Human review of YouTube data is limited to what's necessary for security, legal compliance, or with your explicit consent — consistent with Google's Limited Use requirements under the Google API Services User Data Policy.
Google's own handling of your data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Your use of YouTube itself remains subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
05Data Storage
Uploaded videos and generated clips are stored to allow you to access your projects. You may delete your account and associated data from within the App at any time.
07Your Choices
You can delete your account and content directly from the App's settings at any time. You can disconnect a connected YouTube or Instagram account independently of deleting your whole account, from Settings.
08Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
